Hey! Hey! Hey! What Is UP Dunn County!?!
Great Resource Out There to Help Vitalize Menomonie and Dunn County - The Real Nitty Gritty of Federal Funding to States and Counties - Is Spring Finally HERE?!?
As I continue to mingle and talk to my many neighbors in District 21 I have come across a common theme of “a need for better selection of restaurants in Menomonie” and the feeling of Menomonie and Dunn County becoming “stagnant in growth”. Than as I was pondering of ways to help stimulate growth in Menomonie and Dunn County or if there were any resources out there to help vitalize Dunn County's economy long and behold, through a conversation with a good friend and neighbor of District 21 mentioned a great resource he used to start his chiropractic office right here in Menomonie. It's is called, “Main Street Bounceback Grant Program” Under this program you can receive a $10,000 grant to help establish your business with those start up costs to get you up and running. In order to receive the grant there are some eligibility requirements to be met. Under the Main Street Bounceback Grant Program your business needs to be located within West Central Wisconsin. The business you plan to establish either needs to be moving into a vacant commercial space or has moved into a vacant commercial space as of Jan. 1st, 2021. And the business you are planning to establish can be certified or has not or will not vacate a commercial space in Wisconsin to become eligible to claim this grant. This is a great resource and a great way to vitalize the city of Menomonie and Dunn County's economy. Of course, we also need to support those new start up businesses and all small businesses to help Menomonie and Dunn County thrive economically and strengthen our communities. So I highly recommend setting an appointment with Greenwood Chiropratic Health and Sport Performance at www.greenwoodchiropractichsp.com for an evaluation and adjustment to get your body back into optimal health. Or you can call Dr. James Greenwood at 715-308-4600. And if you want more information on how to start your dream of establishing your own business you can either go to www.wcwrpc.org which is West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission's website or call 715-836-2918 to recieve more in detail about this great resource to help jumpstart your business.
Let's get into the nitty gritty of federal funding to states and counties shall we. Before I dig deep here I want to give you some acronyms and what it stands for so you do not become lost. EDA stands for Economic Development Administration. NOFO stands for Notice Of Funding Opportunities. ARPA stands for American Rescue Plan Act. G7 stands for Group of 7. So last July the U.S. Department of Commerce EDA announced the release of six NOFO that will guide the administration of the $3 billion in supplemental funding that EDA received through the ARPA. Sounds wonderful and grand, right? The problem with this federal funding is the fact it intertwines with the “Build Back Better” initiative in mind. The first NOFO on list is allocation of $1 billion to “Build Back Better” initiative. And on the wcwrpc.org website(yes, the same website to find information about the bounceback grant) states, “is intended to help communities across the country to “Build Back Better” under the ARPA. In the EDA website under Statewide Planning, Research and Networks their definition of “Build Back Better” means “investing in projects that will promote equity and develop local economies that will be resilient to future economic shock and climate change.” Build Back Better and climate change are buzz words used by the globalists to make it sound like a great idea, but is actually being used to transform our great nation from capitalism into global socialism. The slogan “Build Back Better” comes from the World Economic Forum. The “Build Back Better” platform is also being implemented by the G7 countries which are Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom and yes, the United States. The point I am getting across is it appears with federal funding to state and county levels comes with stipulations and agendas as requirements in order to be granted the funding. An “You do this, I will give you this” approach. Sounds to me like strings attached to the federal funding verses using the funding that best meets the needs of the county with no strings attached. I believe we want freedom, not bondage to the globalists. We need to have a deeper dive in finding different and resourceful ways to fund our county government infrastructure as well as vitalizing our Dunn County economy than relying on federal funding like ARPA which is a grave globalist agenda attached to the funding. That's why we have boards and councils to mastermind great ideas which leads to finding solutions to challenging problems of our day. It's time to find ways to become self-sufficient as a county vs. being dependent on the federal government.
I can not help think this past week if spring is FINALLY here!?! After the first week of March of below zero weather which felt like going backwards in time to January I thought we were doomed. How many are with me and tired of dressing like an Eskimo to go out and about in March! Are itching for green grass, blooming of tulips, preparing our gardens, walking, running or riding our bike in warmer weather, or taking out the boat to do some spring fishing or simply playing catch with a baseball with your children. I hope for most of us the answer is a joyful “YES”. Well, it looks mighty promising these spring like days are upon us. On Wednesday we experienced 60 degree weather! How sweet was that! And this coming weekend appears it will be in the 50's. So with that in mind, I like to hear from you in the comment section what your outdoor adventure was like this weekend🌞 What a great time to explore the countryside of Dunn County with a possibility of a new discovery!
